Famed as an actress, model and beauty icon, Isabella Rossellini is also the author of three previous books: a “fictional memoir,” Some of Me (1997); Looking at Me (2002), a book on pictures and photography; and In the Name of the Father, the Daughter and the Holy Spirits: Remembering Roberto Rossellini (2006). But she has never done anything quite like Green Porno (HarperStudio) –nor has anyone else. Based on the award-winning series of experimental short films of the same title, the book features re-enactments of the sex lives of animals using cardboard cutouts and foam-rubber sculptures. “By discovering the diversity, the mysteries, and the greatness of the animal kingdom, I also hope you'll fall in love with it and protect it,” explains Rossellini, who created, wrote, directed and starred in the films.
