Peter Selgin
In his memoir, Confessions of a Left-Handed Man: An Artist's Memoir (University of Iowa Press, $19.95), Peter Selgin describes his formative years in Connecticut watching mental giants clash at Mensa gatherings, enduring Pavlovian training session with a grandmother bent on "curing" his left-handedness, and his non-linear path to an artistic life. Winner of the Flannery O'Connor Award for Fiction for his story collection Drowning Lessons, Selgin has also published a novel and two works on the fiction writer's craft.
