Lauren Book
In her memoir, It's Ok To Tell: A Story of Hope and Recovery (Prospecta $19.95), Lauren Book shares the story of her history of abuse at the hands of her nanny. The book also offers a valuable appendix about the facts and myths surrounding child abuse including: the four types of child abuse, danger signs of child abuse, emotional disorders associated with child abuse, and other emotional after-effects of abuse. Book was born and raised in South Florida, where she resides and directs Lauren’s Kids, a nonprofit organization that works to prevent sexual abuse and help survivors heal.
