Helped to escape by the Resistance, Marshall returns years later, determined to reconnect with those who saved him. In his search, Marshall uncovers long-kept secrets about the fates of his Resistance guides that nearly break his heart, and which set him on a new course for the rest of his life. Mason is the author of four novels and a memoir. She is the winner of the PEN/Hemmingway Award, the O.Henry and the Pushcart.
